Privacy Policy

Overview

simpleSoundbank is built with privacy in mind. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the plugin, understand basic website funnel performance, and process purchases. We do not run analytics in the plugin, we do not profile your music-making activity, and we do not sell your data.

1. What We Collect

1.1 License Activation

When you activate a paid license, the plugin sends the following to our activation server:

• License key — the key you received after purchase
• Hardware identifier (HWID) — a salted, one-way hash derived from your machine's hardware. We cannot reverse this to identify your specific hardware

This data is used solely to verify your license and prevent abuse. The activation token is cached locally on your machine so the plugin does not need to contact the server on every launch.

1.2 Purchase Information

Purchases are processed by LemonSqueezy, our payment provider. When you buy a license, LemonSqueezy collects your email address, payment details, and billing information. We receive your email address and order details but never have access to your full payment card information.

1.3 Website and Funnel Analytics

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare. When you visit the site, Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs such as IP address, browser user agent, and requested pages as part of their infrastructure.

We also collect a small set of first-party website events to understand how the site is performing. These events currently include:

• Page views
• Download button clicks
• Checkout button clicks
• Purchase webhook events from LemonSqueezy after an order is processed

These events are logged through our own Cloudflare Worker. They may include the page path, the button or link clicked, the destination URL, referrer, browser user agent, and an irreversible hash of your IP address for basic abuse prevention and rough deduplication. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles.

We do not use third-party analytics scripts on the website and we do not set analytics cookies for this first-party event logging.

2. What We Don't Collect

3. How We Store Your Data

License records (email, license key, activation status) are stored securely on our server infrastructure. We retain this data for as long as your license is active. Activation tokens are cached locally in your system's standard application data folder.

Website event data is stored in Cloudflare-hosted logs and observability systems used to run and improve the site. We keep this data only as long as reasonably necessary for operations, analytics review, fraud prevention, and support.

4. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Delete your data — contact us and we will remove your records
• Portability — request a copy of your data in a standard format
