Overview

These terms govern your use of the simpleSoundbank plugin and website. By downloading or using simpleSoundbank, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the software.

1. License Grant

1.1 Free Version

simpleSoundbank is available as a free download. The free version grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the plugin for personal and commercial music production on any number of your own machines. The free version is limited to one library per plugin instance.

1.2 Paid Unlock

Purchasing the paid unlock grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use all features of the plugin (including multi-library instances) for personal and commercial music production. The license is granted to you as an individual — you may use it on multiple machines that you personally own and operate.

1.3 What You Can Do

• Use the plugin in any DAW for any purpose, including commercial releases
• Install the plugin on multiple machines you personally own
• Use any audio output from the plugin in your projects without restriction

1.4 What You Cannot Do

• Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the plugin or your license key
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the plugin binaries
• Share your license key with others
• Use the plugin in a way that circumvents the licensing system

2. Purchases & Payments

All purchases are processed by LemonSqueezy. By making a purchase, you also agree to LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service.

2.1 Pricing

The paid unlock is a one-time purchase. There are no recurring fees or subscriptions. Prices are listed on the website and may change, but any price change will not affect existing purchases.

2.2 Refunds

We offer a 14-day refund policy from the date of purchase, no questions asked. To request a refund, contact us via the details in section 9 or through your LemonSqueezy receipt. Refunds will be processed to your original payment method.

After a refund is processed, your license key will be deactivated.

3. Activation & Machine Limits

When you activate the paid unlock, the plugin generates a hardware identifier (a salted, irreversible hash) and sends it to our activation server along with your license key. An activation token is returned and cached locally.

You may activate your license on a reasonable number of machines you personally own. If you need to transfer your license to new hardware, contact us and we'll reset your activations.

4. Updates

Your license includes all future updates to simpleSoundbank at no additional cost. We are not obligated to provide updates on any specific schedule, but we intend to continue improving the plugin.

5. Open Source Components

simpleSoundbank uses open-source libraries including JUCE and TinySoundFont. These components are used under their respective licenses. The use of open-source components does not extend any additional rights to the proprietary portions of simpleSoundbank.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

simpleSoundbank is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the plugin will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every system configuration, DAW, or SoundFont file.

You acknowledge that audio plugins interact closely with host applications and operating systems, and that compatibility issues may arise that are outside our control.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the plugin. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the plugin.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the plugin after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
